Day 16: Went For A Walk
I'm pretty proud of this. :) I'll have to post a picture later where you can see this better, but I'm wearing Neva in an Onbuhimo, a Japanese style carrier. My mother in law and I made it from a picture awhile back (it helps that she grew up in Japan, do she knew what she was doing). It took forever for me to figure out a way to tie it (I went with the Tibetan style) and now I love it! :) I can't wait to wear her like this more often. I still have all the pattern piece and I'm hoping to publish the pattern eventually. I'll post a better pic later, promise!

Day 15: I'm so behind!!!
I can't believe how far behind I've gotten!!! My mom came out to visit and I lost it all. :) Better to just pick up where I left off, right? We had a great couple of days with my mom out from Colorado. Here's one picture from her trip, we went to an airplane museum out here. Lots of fun!!

Day 14: My oh my....
This is the almost-constant state of my house. Ever since Neva started crawling, she has been in a differing state Godzilla-esque proportions. it took her less than 2 minutes to do this.... and that is only half my living room! :) Time for her to learn the clean up song....

Day 13: Something I Made Today
I made a coffee cup cozy today :) I'm in the midst of making some more in different prints, I just ran out of time and energy. But I have my prototype made! I didn't have any buttons big enough, so I hot-glued 3 little buttons together. :)

Day 12: Somebody Who Makes Me Smile
This little guy! World, meet Murphy. He's the Jack Russell Terrier we got about a month and a half after we got married. 4 years later, the 3 of us are still together and we've just added Neva to the mix. Honestly, he was our first kid. We figured if we could keep him healthy and alive, we might be ready for human kids. :) He's such a sweet puppy (even at 9 years old). We love him so much and can always count on him for some snuggles and lovin'.

Day 11: Oh my Geeze, So Delicious....
It's game day in the Chandler house. That combined with hubs not having to work means amazing food. I started our home made carnitas feast at 11:30 this morning. After letting them slow cook for about 5 hours, I was able to enjoy the amazingness. I made tacos complete with carnitas, cheese, spinach, cilantro, tomatoes, red onion, homemade chipotle ranch and homemade salsa. My house smells amazing, it tastes amazing. I'm in heaven… and the game hasn't even started yet!

Day 9: Yay Vitamin D!
Today was a gorgeous day in VB! Neva and I went to our Thursday play group and had a little time to play outside in the sunshine. It was nice to get out and watch Neva eat some leaves. :)

Day 8: Taking steps to success!
I am trying to start my own business from home making ring slings, tote bags and purses. I don't have much so far, just a Facebook page and some orders here and there. But I got business cards made! Baby steps!

Day 7: Baby is Getting Brave!!
We went to our weekly play group today and Neva is getting up some nerve! She's starting to venture out (and up!) on her own! I have a feeling he might have quite a few bumps and bruises in the upcoming years!! :) So proud of her.

Day 6: Fresh Starts
Today I started a Bible study with some ladies at church. We're studying I Peter. I'm excited to get to know these ladies and see what God has to say to us through His word. :)

Day 5: Remember where you came from
Coming from Colorado to Virginia, I've become a lot more proud of my home state. Go Rockies and go Broncos!! Today we watched the Broncos beat the Steelers in overtime! Yahoo!! My hubby and I have always been fans of the home teams, but even more so now. We love showing our Rocky Mountain pride! :)

Day 4: Time For Some Fun!
Neva and I went to a friend's son's 1st birthday party! It was a Mickey Mouse theme, so we dressed the part. I was even wearing my Minnie Mouse-esque red'n'white polka dot skirt! In our red and black garb (and some Mouse ears!), we were ready to rock. :) We had a great time and I can't believe Neva's little play-buddy is already a year old! Time's going by way too quickly.

Day 2: Something that always makes me smile
My big brother! Thank goodness for my big brother. No matter what's ping on, I can always call, text, Face Time, or Skype my brother and know that there will be jokes and laughs on the other side. It's pretty cool when you were able to share a family with your best friend.

And we're off!!!
Hello 2012!! I knew you'd be here eventually, but you snuck up on me faster than any of your predecessors. With this new year underway, my resolution was to "bloom where I'm planted". A year ago, my husband and I moved cross-country to place I'd only visited once before, and that was to find an apartment. No friends. No family. Just us against the world. It's been a productive year. We had a baby, he finished 2 semesters of school and I feel like we're starting to settle. This year, I want to make an effort to reach out to my neighbors and find the beauty of the area. I mean, c'mon, I'm 10 minutes from the beach! :) I'm going to try my best a the 365, Photo-a-Day challenge. I'm going to try and post at least one photo on here everyday and see what happens! I'm very excited and I can't wait to see what I'm going to see!
Here we go! Day 1- Something that makes me tick.
My husband and my gorgeous little girl. They both teach me things daily. I'm ecstatic to see how little Neva is going to grow this upcoming year!
