Day 32: Out & About

Today we went to our normal play group, but we were able to take one more with us! Our friend's son was hanging out with us today and we all went to have some fun. After running, jumping, sliding, crawling, and peek-a-booing, it was time to come home for lunch. John found one of the columns and was making funny faces, it was too funny to not document. :)

Day 31: Monday Funday

Today I woke up feeling antsy. I knew I wasn't going to be able to just sit in the house. I decided to go do a needed return at the mall and ended up hanging out with an also antsy friend. :) We took the kiddos to the play area and Neva was mesmerized by the carousel! I don't blame her, it's gorgeous and has oh so many lights. :) Needless to say, we were both gawking at it for a few minutes. :) I can't believe my baby will be one soon!!

Day 30: Comfort Food!!

This has become my all time favorite comfort food. My mother-in-law used to make it back in Colorado, and before that, back in Japan. It's rice, chicken, garlic powder and ketchup. So easy, so cheap, so filling. It just makes you feel better. :) And it always makes me think of my mother-in-law :)

Day 29: Return to Innocence

Neva got her first balloon today!! I know I'm about 98 balloons shy of the song, but Neva got her very own happy red balloon to play with. She loved it! I mean, how can she not? :) I think every kid loves balloons, I still do. Helium balloons are one of those things that automatically make you smile. If you know anybody who's having a bad day, give them a red balloon. :)

I'm sorry I've been slacking on my posts, but I've been reading The Hunger Games series and it's taking away my blogging time! :)

Day 28: Such a Good Husband...

Day 27: Happy Valentine's Day!!

Today was a fun day! Neva and I went to a play group with a bunch of local moms and we had a blast, as we do every Tuesday. Then we came home and Tim and I swapped Valentine's Day gifts. Wouldn't you know it? He gave me jewelry!!

It was so "sweet" of him! :) Every girl loves getting something she can wear! One thing that I absolutely LOVE is that we have been able to keep our sense of humor in our relationship. We've never let it get too serious and there is always lots of laughter. I can't imagine it any other way! Honestly, I don't think I'd survive any other way. That sweet husband of mine even got a present for the other lady in his life!

It's a teddy bear that's just her size. :) I'm a lucky, lucky girl. On a day that has been advertised to be all about extravagant gifts and huge surprises (and calories), I'm able to sit back and watch a wonderful husband give a snuggle bear to his daughter. Ladies and gentlemen, life is good... and we are so blessed. :)

Day 26: Something blue!

The prompt for today is something blue! This is a lil' bracelet from my FAVORITE coffee place back in CO, Dutch Bros!!! They have amazing coffee and it's so affordable! Plus they hire the absolute nicest people who have ever barista-ed! Even though there aren't any out here in VA, I'm doing what I can to spread the "Dutch love" when I can. :)

Day 25: Wiped!

After a short night and an early morning, we were all pretty tired. We still all went to church together this morning then out to lunch. Neva and I crashed in my chair an we slept like this for about 15-20 minutes before Tim woke us up and told me to go lay down. :) It wasn't until after he went to work that I saw he'd taken a picture of Neva and I snuggling. :) So, today's picture is courtesy of the hubby. :)

Day 24: Something That Makes You Happy

It's snowing in Virginia Beach!! I think it's a belated birthday present from up above. :) Of course it has to be on the night I get all dooted up to have a girls night with my ladies, but who's complaining?! :) Snow is just a little taste of home, it's snowing in Colorado too! :) How fun!! (Please ignore the baby mess in the background....) :)

Day 23: A day at the museum!

Today's my birthday!!! :) I'm a whopping 27 years old today!! My friend took me out for a day on the town today and we went to the Chrysler Museum and out for lunch. We were able stroll around see some amazing art and artifacts. It was amazing to see so much beautiful history all under one roof. I was able to see a genuine Andy Warhol original! Very cool. :) I'm really enjoying life. :)

Day 22: Good Food Brings Good Community

If Tim and I ever own a restaurant, that will be up on the wall. WE LOVE FOOD. We love conversations that happen in the kitchen. We always have, always will. Tonight I made homemade green chili and we made burritos. It was outstanding!! So good! I hope we can own our own restaurant someday. What better way to make people smile than by filling tummies? :)

Day 21: A Button :)

Here's a button on one I my favorite electronics: my sewing machine! My mother-in-law gave me this sewing machine when she came out for Neva being born. I didn't get to use it much the first few months, but working with it has become my sanctuary. It gives me time to decompress, pray, and think things through. It's become a wonderful time for me and become a great hobby and passion. What a blessing!

Day 20: Munching on some Dee-nar!!!

Neva is eating simbe for the first time! Simbe is a rice cracker that's covered in soy sauce. My mother-in-law grew up in Japan and its a snack staple over there. :) She sent us a box with a package of simbe and Neva loves it! She also got her first tooth today!! I'm hoping this will bring a little relief for the little one. She munched and munched on that cracker forever. My husband and sister-in-law loved it when they were kids and now Neva loves it! :)

Day 19: my little one's hands have been busy!

Neva has now learned how to open cupboards. She then proceeds to take everything out and toss it on the floor. She's everywhere!!! :) If "idle hands are the devil's play thing" then he is nowhere near my precious baby! :)

Day 18: A Picture of Words

A guide for the picture-a-day challenge said to take a picture of words. Since I saw the movie "The Help" these words have stuck in my mind and heart. I wrote them on my bathroom mirror so I'd see it everyday as a reminder for both Tim and me. I also make sure I say it to Neva everyday.

Day 17: Another Beautiful Day!

I couldn't have imagined a better way to ring in February. We started off by sleeping in, then meeting up with a friend later for a picnic. It was a gorgeous day here! Sunny with temps up in the mid-70s, it was perfect for the short picnic and walk. Neva was all decked out, as usual, and had a blast. :) Now it is raining, I love it!!
